 News!
Plenty of news for you all (including those very patient customers).
For the last week couple of weeks we have been updating our factory and production methods (following some external advice), the last few days have been awkward as we have had to have a good chunk of the factories 3-phase power wiring moved or renewed.
The customer support & delivery scheduling is being taken over 100% from 1st November by Vivienne here and a separate email address will be available for chasing up orders and that type of thing. Customer service has been a huge stumbling block for us and I'm a better designer & builder than CRM.
We bit-the-bullet recently and thanks to some help from a far-sighted bank manager have just installed a much better & bigger milling machine - this is now running and we are retooling all our products to be built on this. We still have a big bottle-neck in test, but we think we can solve this, another week or so of graft and all the bC16's will be out. All bC16 customers should get a quick email from myself or 'customer service' by Monday.
The first SM16's are leaving very shortly, with the remainder within a few weeks (we built alot of the stock before our old mill was shutdown). The bCX is being sent out as soon as the bC16 backlog is complete.
Also, for November 2009 we are introducing the bC9 and SM9, the bC9 is the successor to the bC8 and has two major extra features customers asked for: (1) you can modulate any of the knobs with an external CV and (2) you can feed it with external DC if you wish. The SM9 is huge fun also, the same basic size as the bC9 - this is a simple 8 step sequencer with few neat features (see page on website). Use them apart or just add a stereo 3.5mm cable between them. As with the bC8, the bC9 and SM9 are built using slightly different techniques to the bC16 and SM16 - and delivery starts soon.
I got quite alot of criticism (constructive) recently for the less-than-wonderful state of the product manuals - it is being sorted, as are some new videos and lots more photo's.
December 2009 is the 2nd anniversary of Chimera Synthesis and you'll all see a much more polished performance, really quick deliveries and a continuation of our innovative products into our 3rd year.
best,

Thanks for the update.
The bC9 seems to be very interesting. Adding external triggering to the bC8 concept might be really handy. An analogue sequencer only 8cm in diameter could certainly also would have its' uses.

This is the best news I have heard from you to date. I've always said that your strengths are incredible, but that you really needed people helping you with your weak spots. I think this could be a great new beginning for your company.
I hope the time estimates you gave here don't end up being more letdowns.

Nope, me neither...not a squeak.
*Sigh...*
(After all, its only been a year and a half since I ordered the 'in stock' BC-16 so what was I expecting?! )
